About TESS »

TESS is a non-profit corporation, managed by a Board of Directors elected from the member companies. There are no contracts, no penalties, and no hassles! Members are encouraged to participate in the regular Board meetings. An interested member can also work with the Members Forum.

The cost for membership in our system depends on the number of excavation notices a member receives. The current fee for service is $.95 per message received at the member location. Of course, our service is backed by our total quality guarantee: if a member receives a locate request that is unusable by that member due to an error made by the Center, the member will not be billed for that locate!

The heart of our system is GeoCall, the state-of-the-art one-call system that TESS operates, is a fully integrated GIS and one-call system. Using geospatial technology, the DIG TESS Center is able to eliminate many unnecessary locate requests, saving our members money and increasing the value of TESS membership. If a member wishes to continue to utilize the traditional 15-second grid system, it is available as well.
